Brotherhood

It possessed one of their most cryptic covers, even for a band that made a career of them, but Brotherhood was also, strangely but appropriately, New Order’s broadest breakout yet in America thanks to another stellar rock/dance fusion that was uniquely theirs, the swirling “Bizarre Love Triangle.” At the same time Brotherhood also showcased the band, especially via its first half, as a sharp edged 1980s rock act with songs like “Weirdo” and “Way of Life,” while the sweetly melancholic “All Day Long” addresses domestic violence with quiet empathy.
