Climate Of Hunter

Released

Following a burst of new appreciation for his adventurous late 60s work and his gripping contributions to Nite Flights, Scott Walker returned to solo efforts in full with what proved to be his only release in the 1980s, the half-hour long Climate of Hunter. Simultaneously a polished art-pop/rock album of its time and a distinctly unusual series of songs, from the orchestra-tinged “Rawhide” to the sleek pulsing drive of “Track Five,” Climate’s center remained Walker’s rich voice and striking lyrics, embracing a freer poetic style that would stand forth in later years.
