Dub Come Save Me

Released

As its title clearly signals, this is a remix album based on Roots Manuva’s 2001 release Run Come Save Me. And as its title also clearly signals, the remixes owe a tremendous debt to the reggae-specific remix tradition known as dub. Vocal and instrumental elements drift in and out of the mix, one-drop riddims sidle in sneakily, and enormous sonic spaces are defined using lashings of echo and reverb. Roots Manuva’s fans might find this one a bit perplexing — but then again, they might feel right at home.
