El Valle de la Infancia

Released

Dino Saluzzi is the undisputed master of the bandoneon, a concertina popular in his native Argentina. El Valle de la Infancia shows us not only the breadth of the instrument’s capabilities but also the depth of the one playing it. The title (“The Valley of Childhood”) hints at this family affair, which finds him in the company of his brother, son, and nephew, among others. Their guitars, reeds, bass, and drums are wind to Saluzzi’s wings across a program of standalone pieces and suites. This is rich, paternal, and familiar music consecrated by the places that birthed it.
