LP5

Released

This now feels like a summary of the Nineties, more connected to what came before than what came after. Rob and Sean even sound a bit like Aphex Twin here, with the rattling rhythm flashes that don’t ultimately remain in their toolbox. LP5 is as close as the fellas get to Upbeat Good Times, largely because they allow all these twinkling early Nineties music box melodies to work their way into the music, another thing that doesn’t come back. I still think “Fold4,Wrap5” sounds like one of them trying to make a New Order track from memory while the other slows it down at random. Peaceful war!
