Cellist Mabe Fratti is perfecting a kind of sweet and sour sandwich. This album puts her voice, tremulous and strong, in a match with her cello and a soup of electronics that makes it sounds like she is singing to us and across a great void. A genuine drive and tension here, and so much more engaging than dozens of people trying similar things.
