Still

Released

Released a year after the devastating suicide of Ian Curtis, Still attempted to provide a kind-of summary of Joy Division’s existence, albeit in somewhat unusual fashion, being neither a true best-of or overview but also feeling somewhat random by any measure. A double-vinyl release originally, the second disc featured the band’s last concert, a notable performance as history but choppy otherwise, while the first disc contained various unreleased tracks and B-sides, along with a wry one-off via a cover of the Velvet Underground’s “Sister Ray.”
