Toward the Within

Released

On top of their studio albums, Dead Can Dance had been heavily bootlegged over the 1980s and into the 1990s due to the inclusion of numerous songs and adaptations that never saw formal release. Released in combination with a concert film of the performance, recorded in California in 1993, Toward the Within made up for that beautifully, with a few familiar favorites mixed with otherwise unavailable songs or compositions, including two tracks from Lisa Gerrard from her own later solo debut in 1995, the traditional “Persian Love Song” and “Sanvean.”
