Assembled in slight haste in 1998 after Medazzaland didn’t land well, leading to Duran Duran and longtime label EMI to split, Greatest served as a good update to the earlier Decade compilation, as some of its biggest singles like “Ordinary World” had been released afterward. It’s not a full singles compilation from that run, and many of their notable remixes were instead collected on Strange Behaviour, but it remains the best formal overview of the EMI years, from the early 80s peak years through to their surprising early 1990s comeback and beyond.
