In Your Mind

Released

If In Your Mind had been released as the next Roxy Music album after Siren, it would have gained a lot more attention than it has over the years, with Bryan Ferry adjusting to the arrival of punk by carefully avoiding aping it at all in favor of his own elegant constructions. Songs like “This is Tomorrow,” “Party Doll” and “Tokyo Joe” arguably are extensions of his famed suave-guy-at-the-nightclub persona in various forms, but they’re done with pep and energy — not to mention, for the first time in his solo career, done without any cover versions at all.
