Bombay Disco (Disco Hits From Hindi Films 1979-1985)

This sampler of the Bollywood Disco era is as comprehensive as could be expected from such a sprawling, prolific genre. Every song is a winner, with “Disco 82” from Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar being a definitive example of the form. The compilation also leaves room for two tracks from Asha Bhosle that play with its boundaries: The slinky, electronic “Udi Baba” and the baroque “Pyar Ka Imithan,” which sounds like an acid-house remix of the world’s loudest brass band.
