This 1984 soundtrack is a particularly strong collection in an era full of them. The chilled-out lo-fi electro of “Come Closer” is one of the highlights of Bollywood Disco, predating G-Funk and trip-hop by a decade. Conversely, the title track is irrepressibly crazed and more typical of the unrestrained struts that mark the genre. Perhaps most famous in the West is the two-part dance epic “Jeena Bhi Kya Koi Jeena Hai,” which found latter-day fame due to its intentional similarities with “Billie Jean” and “Thriller.”
